SCA Banner Title

I've been a member in the Society for Creative Anachronism on and off since about 1983. The Society is an international club for people who want to re-create an idealized version of the Middle Ages - with Chivalry, Honor, Pagentry & Splendour, but without Plague, Religious Intolerance, Festering Sores or the Inquisition. There are approximately 40,000 members in chapters scattered across the globe, with the majority of the 'population' living in North America.

I was introduced to the local chapter - The Barony of the Cleftlands - through a school friend whom I met in a high school English Lit class. The teacher required the class to read "Lord of the Rings" and we'd both read it already - several times. During college, I was busy with other things, but I came back to the Society in about 1992, and have been active since then.
